Section 1

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, keep you logged in between pages, and help website operators understand how their sites are used.

Cookies are set either by the website you’re visiting (“first-party cookies”) or by third-party services that the site uses (“third-party cookies”). Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (“session cookies”), while others remain on your device for a defined period (“persistent cookies”).

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings (see Section 5). Note that disabling certain cookies — particularly essential cookies — may affect your ability to use parts of the KareerKomet Platform.

How We Use Cookies

KareerKomet uses cookies to:

Keep you logged in — so you don’t have to re-enter your credentials every time you navigate to a new page
Remember your preferences — such as your dashboard display settings and notification preferences
Enable secure payment processing — Stripe uses cookies as part of its fraud prevention and session management during checkout
Optimize page performance — our caching system uses cookies to serve pages faster
Maintain your session state — keeping track of where you are in multi-step processes like account setup or plan selection

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Platform is used in aggregate. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking across third-party websites, or cross-site retargeting. See Section 3.4 for full details on the analytics cookies we set and how to opt out of them.

Cookies We Set and Why

Essential cookies — required for the Platform to function

These cookies are necessary for the Platform to operate. Without them, you cannot log in, complete a checkout, or use core features. They cannot be disabled while continuing to use the Platform.

Analytics cookies — Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Platform — which pages are most visited, how users navigate between sections, where people arrive from, and general usage patterns. This data is aggregated and used to improve the Platform. We do not use analytics data to identify individual users or to make decisions about specific accounts.

Google Analytics cookies are deployed on the Platform through Google Tag Manager — a tag management system that loads and manages third-party scripts from a single container. Google Tag Manager itself does not set any cookies; all cookies in this section originate from the Google Analytics tags it loads. You may see the GTM container script referenced in the page source as gtm.js — this is how GA4 is loaded, not a separate tracking mechanism.

The data collected by Google Analytics is processed by Google and stored on Google’s servers in the United States. Google may also use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics’ data privacy information.

Google Search Console

We use Google Search Console to monitor the Platform’s presence in Google Search results — tracking search impressions, click-through rates, crawl errors, and indexing status. Search Console is a webmaster tool that reads data Google already collects through its own search crawlers. It does not set any cookies on visitors’ browsers and does not collect any data directly from users visiting kareerkomet.com. No disclosure in the cookie table is required for Search Console.

Opting out of Google Analytics

You have several options to opt out of Google Analytics tracking:

Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: Google offers a browser extension that prevents GA from collecting data. Available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Google Ad Settings: You can control how Google uses your information for advertising and analytics at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
Browser cookie controls: Deleting or blocking cookies named _ga and _ga_* from your browser’s cookie settings will prevent GA4 from recognizing you as a returning visitor. See Section 5 for browser-specific instructions.

Opting out of Google Analytics does not affect your ability to use any feature of the KareerKomet Platform — analytics cookies are not required for login, applying to jobs, posting listings, or any other core functionality.

Section 4

Cookies & Email Communications

Marketing and notification emails we send through FluentCRM may contain a small tracking pixel — a single transparent image — that can tell us whether the email was opened and whether links were clicked. This is a common email marketing practice. The pixel is not a browser cookie but functions in a similar way for email tracking purposes.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by updating your notification preferences in your account dashboard. Transactional emails (such as application confirmations and password reset emails) do not contain tracking pixels.

How to Manage & Disable Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to manage your cookie preferences through their settings. You can typically:

View the cookies currently stored on your device
Delete existing cookies
Block all cookies from being set
Block cookies from specific websites only
Accept all cookies, or accept only first-party cookies

Browser-specific instructions:

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

Important: If you block or delete the essential cookies listed in Section 3.1, you will not be able to stay logged in to the KareerKomet Platform, and features including your dashboard, job listings, and applications will not function correctly.

To opt out of Stripe cookies specifically, you would need to avoid pages with embedded payment forms (plan checkout pages). Standard browsing and account use on non-payment pages will not trigger Stripe cookies.

Section 6

Cookie Consent

For users in regions where applicable law requires consent before setting non-essential cookies (such as the European Union under the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR), we will display a cookie consent notice and obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

For users in the United States — KareerKomet’s primary market — most cookies we set fall into the “essential” category required for the Platform to function. We do not currently set cookies that require opt-in consent under US law. If that changes, we will update this Policy and our consent practices accordingly.

Section 7

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new features or third-party services that use cookies, or when applicable laws change. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by posting a notice on the Platform or sending an email notification.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
